Burkasan, one of Turkey’s leading recycling companies, continues to stand out in the sector with its environmentally conscious and innovative projects. The company has made a significant impact in the industry by offering solutions for the recycling of old refrigerators used by businesses with refrigerators and freezers. With Turkey’s first fully automated refrigerator recycling facility, Burkasan continues to pioneer in the recycling sector. This high-tech facility has the capacity to recycle old refrigerators with an efficiency rate exceeding 98%.
The factory, integrated with fully automated systems, boosts operational efficiency while contributing to environmental sustainability goals.
Alongside its success in refrigerator recycling, Burkasan continues to operate with advanced technologies in plastic recycling. At its plastic recycling facility in Bursa, the company achieves a purity rate of 99% through systems that allow plastics to be sorted by type. This facility, with an annual waste management capacity of 15,000 tons, aims to process 2,500 tons of plastic monthly and produce 1,500 tons of recycled products. These processes ensure that Burkasan delivers recycling products that meet world standards in both quality and purity.

Burkasan’s future goals include the production of PET granules and the implementation of a “bottle-to-bottle” recycling process. Through this initiative, the company plans to produce raw materials for PET bottles used in the beverage sector and is currently awaiting approval from the Turkish Food Codex. By taking this step, Burkasan aims to align its recycling processes more closely with circular economy principles and further enhance sustainability.
With its advanced technologies in refrigerator and plastic recycling, Burkasan continues to lead the sector, driven by its commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable future goals. Burkasan’s environmentally impactful projects reinforce its leadership position in the recycling industry both in Turkey and in global markets.
